Germany's biggest sports television channel SPORT1 has announced the live broadcast of the League of Legends Season 6 World Championship Grand Final between Samsung Galaxy and defending champions SK Telecom T1, in cooperation with Riot Games and Summoner's Inn on Sunday, 30th October. Starting at 12:30 AM CEST, there will be extensive coverage before and after the games, presented by host Tim Feldner, Summoner's Inn expert Jona "Johnny" Schmitt and special guest Fabian "Grabbz" Lohmann, head coach of ROCCAT's LCS team.

SPORT1 first attempted to broadcast professional League of Legends live on German free-TV during the EU LCS Summer Split Finals between G2 Esports and Splyce, at the end of August 2016. Parts of the final games were shown in a two-hour long broadcast and were targeted at viewers who had no prior experience with League of Legends or eSports in general. Therefore, the program focused on the game's mechanics, general strategies and the structure of the tournament.

This time the television channel will broadcast every game of the most important best of five series without any breaks, while the players duke it out on Summoner's Rift. The viewers can expect a high production value broadcast that will include professional analysis tools known from traditional sports broadcasts.

Summoner's Inn casters Maxim Markow, Nico "Sola" Linke, Maurice "Mori" Lange and Karl "Dentist" Krey, former LCS coach of the Copenhagen Wolves in 2015, will provide in game commentary during the Worlds Finals, which are held in world-renowned Staples Center, Los Angeles.

Defending champions SK Telecom T1, with mid lane prodigy Sang-hyeok 'Faker' Lee, will face unlikely participants Samsung Galaxy in an all Korean finals for a prize pool of over $1.5 million.
